Paralegal / Notarial Clerk

Overview and Role Summary

This is an opportunity for an ambitious, hands-on and motivated candidate to help develop the firm. Candidates should have experience of, or the desire and ability to learn, notarial practice. Further candidates should have an interest in general litigation matters and are expected to handle their tasks independently.

You will be joining a young and motivated teams, receive a competitive salary and medical insurance. Although this is a Hong Kong role, the nature of how the firm operates means that international work is the norm. An international and collaborative mindset is imperative.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various notarial administrative and clerical tasks to support our litigation and notary work;

  • Undertake a variety of activities in the office ranging from filing and answering the phone to basic bookkeeping;

  • Maintain files and records so they remain updated and easily accessible; 

  • Communicate with clients in person, by email and on the phone;

  • Draft court documents including basic affidavits; 

  • Work under pressure and meet deadlines;

  • Handle tasks independently.

Qualifications, Experience and Expectations

  • Experience of or the desire and ability to learn notarial practice;

  • Practical experience with a good grasp of the litigation process would be an advantage;

  • Knowledge of uncontested probate would be an advantage;

  • Experience in general litigation matters would be a plus;

  • Good organisational and multi-tasking abilities;

  • Good knowledge of MS Office;

  • Good communication skills;

  • Fluency in written and spoken English, Mandarin and Cantonese;

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
