AML Internship in Hong Kong

Location: Hong Kong SAR

Work Arrangement: On-site 
Duration: Minimum 8 consecutive weeks (longer preferred)

About the Internship

Ravenscroft & Schmierer, a Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2025 & 2026 top‑ranked law firm, offers a hands‑on AML Internship supporting the firm’s Compliance Officer. This role provides practical exposure to anti‑money laundering (AML) compliance, client due diligence (CDD), risk assessments, internal controls, and regulatory processes within a leading law firm.

You will work closely with the Compliance and Operations teams, gaining insight into the AML framework of a modern, multinational legal practice. Although this is a Hong Kong‑based role, the firm operates internationally, and an international and collaborative mindset is essential.

This internship is ideal for candidates seeking to gain practical experience in AML compliance, regulatory processes, and professional services operations.

Who Should Apply

Please only apply if you:

  • are available for at least 8 consecutive weeks (longer preferred).

  • can work during term‑time.

  • are proficient in English.

  • already hold the right to work in Hong Kong.

  • are a local full‑time student or a recent graduate.

Candidates with backgrounds or interests in law, compliance, risk management, business, finance, or professional services are welcome.

Key Responsibilities

You will support the firm’s Compliance function by assisting with:

  • conducting AML and client due diligence (CDD) checks.

  • performing client and matter risk assessments.

  • coordinating and facilitating the AML checking process.

  • maintaining internal AML records, reports, and databases.

  • ensuring AML policies and procedures are kept up to date.

  • assisting with internal AML training initiatives.

  • undertaking enhanced or additional AML checks when required.

  • supporting ongoing client compliance matters.

This role requires professionalism, discretion, accuracy, and the ability to work under pressure with sensitive client and compliance information.

Candidate Profile

Successful applicants will demonstrate:

  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

  • High levels of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism.

  • A proactive, responsible, and “can‑do” attitude.

  • Ability to work independently under supervision.

  • Good organisational and time‑management skills.

  • Willingness and ability to learn AML compliance processes.

 

Chinese or other language skills would be an advantage but are not required.
